Still Love You Poems

by Jason on February 26, 2011

The nagging sometimes wears at me
When I don’t clean the bathroom right
The natter annoys my ears sometimes
Like a pesky mosquito hovering close

When determined you resist me
Withholding yourself from my love
Your independence shining so forcefully
And your glare of defiance resolute

I still love you assuredly I do
Even in the midst of my annoyance with you
Your resistance and defiance
Seem to draw me in further to you

So cute and determined to resist
I feel like chasing you more
Like the skunk, Peppy Le Pew
Chasing the girl of his dreams

I still love you, I do
When you withhold your body from me
When you say, “I’m unavailable”
When you feel like a big whale blue

I still love you when you bother me
When the chirping just won’t quit
When something is out of place
When I don’t know what you’re whining about

When the bathroom we clean so differently
You tell me to go back when I’m done
You say I can’t finish in five minutes flat
You find grime I knew not existed

Somehow through all your emotions
And whatever state you seem to be in
I find myself loving you more every day
Whether happy, whiny or witchy you are
