Gratitude Quotes

I remember as a kid I was told to always show gratitude. I thought it was a polite thing to do, but I never got how essential it was for my own life in regards to my happiness and having the things I wanted. These gratitude quotes are my musings about what gratitude does not only for the receiver, but the giver as well.

-Gratitude benefits the receiver just as much as the giver. Gratitude is the receiver’s way of reciprocating and giving back to the giver as an offering of love.

-One-way giving is ultimately unfulfilling. The cycle of giving is incomplete without the gratitude of the recipient to finish the cycle. An ungrateful recipient leaves the giver unfulfilled as the giver’s gift falls onto a space of hard rock where the giver learns he won’t ever give his gift there again.

-My gratitude is just as important as a gift in return to the giver. My gratitude recognizes the value of the giver’s gift and gives the giver meaning in his gift. Without gratitude, there would be no continued giving and no meaning to any service, love or giving performed.

-You can’t give to something that can’t show gratitude. I can’t perform a wonderful act of service for a rock or an inanimate object. There’s no consciousness there to acknowledge the gift. Hence, there can be no giving or service in the world without a reciprocation and acknowledgement in the form of gratitude.

-Gratitude is using whatever is given to me. Whether it be a gift, whether it be wisdom I learn, whether it be any type of knowledge or God-given talent, gratitude is utilizing everything that I have been given, whether physical or spiritual in nature.

-Gratitude also exists in the form of acting upon whatever knowledge and wisdom I am given. If I apply not that which I have been given, I will not be given any more knowledge to learn and I will lose that which I have.

-The opposite of gratitude is entitlement. Gratitude exists without expectation. Having gratitude means you don’t expect anything and that anything that comes your way and elevates your life you are incredibly grateful for. Entitlement means you are grateful for nothing and are disappointed and frustrated when you don’t get what you want or you don’t get your free lunch coming your way. The more entitlement you have, the less you will ultimately have in your life.

-The less gratitude you show, the less you will have in your life. No one will continue to give to a person who is not grateful and does not appreciate what he has been given.

-A tried and true way to get more of what I want in life is to show gratitude for everything I have and everything that comes way. The energy of the universe around you will continue to flow your way if you accept and show gratitude for everything you have. The less gratitude you show the less will come your way.

-Life is about being happy now with everything I already have and not needing anything more. Only through this matter of showing gratitude will you ultimately be fulfilled in life and will infinitely more come your way.

-Everyone is entitled to abundance if they will but show gratitude for everything they already have. He who shows no gratitude may own the entire world but feels as if he has nothing and remains empty inside.

-Scarcity is the lack of gratitude. Many of the wealthiest men in the world continue to try to dominate the world and get even more money precisely because they feel lack and scarcity in their lives. They feel empty inside and are ever-consuming hoping to fill that lack and scarcity inside.

-You may have heard the Bible quote about the man who sleepeth and who awaketh, but his soul is tired or the man who eateth, but who remains hungry inside. This is akin to he who does not show gratitude, to he who is constantly looking for something outside of himself for fulfillment and cannot find that which can only be found within.

-Gratitude is how I show the universe that I am ready to receive an infinite abundance coming my way. I must be grateful for all the money and items I have. If I feel I need more or that I don’t have enough or that I can be happy only when I get out of debt, when I’m wealthy or at some point in the future, I’m showing the universe that I am not grateful for what I have now, and I will never have that which I want or be fulfilled with anything that I have. I will be constantly looking towards and waiting for some imaginary point in the future when I will be fulfilled by something outside of me, which is physically impossible.
